Creighton Model Introductory Session

So, yesterday we attended the introductory session for Creighton Model. I am so glad that Michael was there with me and that he will be a big part of this process so he will understand more of our fertility issues.

The session went well, was very basic but I discovered that I have like 3 of 6 signs of problems. I am fairly certain the majority of my issues are with endometriosis, but I have always thought that after I had my LEEP procedure done a couple years ago that I don't have as much cervical mucous as I should.

At the end of the class you are asked if you want to sign-up to continue instruction. I asked if we had to sign up in order to be referred to a medical doctor after 2 cycles, and they said yes. So we signed up to continue instruction for the next year. I know that this will be a great asset in our relationship for the remainder of our life. I feel confident that once I have 2 cycles charted the doctor will be able to help me correct my issues more than the other doctors I've had. I love my current OBGYN b/c he is so nice and sweet and I feel that he really does care, but he doesn't explain himself all too well and is very quick when he comes in to talk to you b/c they are always so busy.

I would highly recommend signing up for Creighton Model instruction to any couple out there. This is a tool which you can use to avoid or achieve pregnancy.

Well, that is all for now, the next session with my teacher will be in 2 weeks so I'll keep you updated.

A New Hope...

I have a new hope in our TTC journey. A friend of Michael's told us about NaPro Technology and the Creighton Model. I searched around for hours last week to try and figure out more about this. Their goal is to treat the problem with your fertility and then you conceive naturally, rather than trying to force your body into something.

We will attend a training class January 23rd for Creighton Model to learn the charting process. Then I was told that after 2 cycles we will be referred to a medical specialist depending on our issues.

I can't wait until next Saturday to learn more, I again have renewed hope that we may be able to have a baby of our own.

Cruise coming soon..

Michael and I will be flying to Miami on June 4th. Then leaving Miami on June 5th to Nassau, Bahamas. The cruise will return June 8th and we will fly home that evening.

I am so excited. This is the first cruise for both Michael and I.

I am looking for tips... on cruises, on things to do in Miami and Nassau. Let me know if you have anything good to share.

So far I know I'm going to take bromine starting a few days before so I don't get nauseous. I really haven't planned our activities though, so need to get cracking on that.

I would love to hear from any other cruisers leaving on the same cruise(Carnival).

March for Dimes, March for Babies...

I've been wanting to join the March of Dimes walk for a long time. I am grateful to be part of a team honoring my friend's son who was born without a heartbeat, William Jason Wendt. Below is her story, please sponsor me so that I can help reach my goal and hope that no one has to go through the heartache of losing another baby. Please pass this on to all your address book, we all can make a difference. Babies need our help, we are their only hope! To support me, you can click the link below. Thanks for your time.

To All:

As many of you know my little boy, William, was born into Heaven on March 11th. He was 7 ½ weeks early. Back in December he was diagnosed with Anencephaly, a neural tube defect which is the incomplete formation of the brain, skull & scalp. At the time of his diagnosis I had never even heard of this defect even though it’s one of the most common neural tube defects. I have read many websites that say not enough folic acid could cause neural tube defects. I couldn’t help but wonder if I had caused his defect because I was not taking prenatal vitamins at the time of conception – we weren’t planning on officially trying yet. My doctor & perinatologist reassured me that there was nothing I did or didn’t do that caused this. So I think there is something other than a lack of folic acid that caused this whether it is genetic or whatever.

That is why I decided to create a family team for the March of Dimes walk in memory of William. I hope one day there will be a cure for ALL birth defects so families don’t have to lose their precious babies. I invite you all to join me in this walk – May 9th at Auditorium Shores. We will be walking together in honor of William and all other babies that have lost their lives too early in hopes to raise money for the research needed to find the cures.

If you are unable to walk with us, please consider a donation, if possible. I know times are tough for everyone, so if you are unable to donate I completely understand. But I do ask you if you could forward this to everyone in your address book. And I would also like to thank everyone in advance for the support.

Thank you all!!

This is me with my new short hair. I love it! At first, it was a big change from being so long, but I'm glad that I did it. It is so much easier to maintain like this. I cut it this short because I donated my hair to Locks of Love. This is the 2nd time that I've done this so I am really glad that I did.

The Two of Us

So, everyone else is blogging these days - why not me? Well now I am.

I guess I will start on a little background of our life. My husband is Michael. We met working out at Gold's Gym through friends. We became friends and hung out every week for about a year. Eventually we both needed a place to live, so we decided to get an apartment together to share(2 bedroom/2 bath). Then about a month into living together it clicked- and we can't be separated ever since. This was in 2002 and we got married on June 11, 2005.

We tried for over 3 years now to have a child, but nothing has come of it yet. We started fertility treatment, but had to stop when I left my job in October 2008. Now, we are taking a break and hope that maybe God will answer our prayers and it will happen naturally.

We have a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house in Hutto that we moved into in March 2008. We are still in the process of getting it to look the way we want to, but we love it!

Life is so full these days. Michael works full time as Maintenance Coordinator in Austin. I work full time as a Legal Assistant at an Attorney's office in downtown Austin. I am and Independent AVON Sales Rep and that keeps me busy at least one day out of the week. I am also going through RCIA to become a part of the Catholic Church this April and that is every Thursday night. We are working with the Father to get married through the Church this May, and we will have to attend classes and workshops starting in February 2009 for at least one day out of the week. And- to top it off I am attempting to take some classes online to get my Real Estate License to have it "in my back pocket"- as Marion put it - in case I ever find myself without a job again. Plus, I will try to sell some houses on the side to make extra money.

So, as you can see, God has been really good to us. And we really can't ask for anything more. We know that our time will come to be parents. We are just enjoying our family, and friends as much as we can. We hope to travel soon - including: Hawaii, Washington D.C., Colorado or New Mexico to snowski, a cruise to Mexico or Bahamas, and many more...

Keep tuned for updates!
